The focus of our digital rail solutions is based on three important factors: Safety, Productivity and Maintenance and are built to improve the overall safety and productivity of our clients.

Our highly experienced technical teams are involved with developing and deploying on-board and trackside rail solutions, as well as augmented operations systems, that assist clients in improving rail safety and efficiency.

We offer a range of onboard, trackside as well as monitoring solutions. Some examples are:

EC supplies train cab systems that enable the operator to visualise the status of other subsystems by means of an Integrated System Display (ISD). This greatly improves situational awareness of the operator.

The Integrated System Display (ISD) serves as a Human Machine Interface for subsystems in the train and enables the operator to visualise the status of the subsystems. The ISD makes use of three protocols over the LAN to interface with other devices, of which any can be used by potential subsystems.

The ISD takes on the role of being the display nexus for all peripheral devices and provides easy access to the viewable output of each peripheral device.

Together with our Integrated System Display (ISD), the Headless Train Cab System (HTCS) provides location based reporting, speed and line profile information and tracking capabilities to both the operator as well as the train control officer, and also provides for communication between the operator and central control.

Our Auxiliary Display Units (ADU) allow the operator to visualise various aspects of the train performance, such as speed, brake demand/pressure and notch position, amongst others.

Our ExacTrack units have been specifically developed for rail operations and provide tracking solutions to the rail operator.

In order to provide information regarding rolling stock position and status, our trackside Vehicle Identification System (VIS) has been designed to read RFID tags mounted on rolling stock in a train consist.

It also interfaces with various trackside sensors to provide status of the rolling stock in motion to the central control. As with all our trackside solutions, it has been ruggedised to improve survivability in harsh conditions, including protection against vandalism.

Together with Harvin VEIC Technology, we provide and integrate rail mounted sensors for the detection of rolling stock status, such as Hot Bearing Evaluator and Detectors Systems (HBEDS), Hot Wheel Detectors (HWD) and Load Profile Monitoring Systems (LPMS).

In partnership with an international company, we also provide Weigh-In-Motion solutions, which provides the client the ability to weigh and diagnose a range of logistical vehicles while they are deployed and while in motion without disrupting operations.

EC has developed and is maintaining an Integrated Train Condition Monitoring Solution (ITCMS) for our clients.

It captures information from various trackside and onboard systems and facilitates the monitoring of widely distributed rolling stock by personnel at a centralised control centre.
