Originally designed to interface with the ISD, the Headless Train Cab System (HTCS) provides GPS based location reporting, speed and line profile information and tracking capabilities to both the operator as well as the train control officer.  It provides vital information to the driver and asset tracking information to the Train Control Officer.

The H-TCS also provides for voice communication between the locomotive and central control by connecting to the Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) server provided by the ISD.
